Mars, and its great stable of candies and gum and other foods, graciously joined the Pel’s Pals Foundation as its Presenting Sponsor in 2009. Mars has been active in charitable causes throughout the great state of Arkansas, most notably coordinating the Color of Hope, an annual fundraiser each August for the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
While Mars is the first official sponsor of the Pel’s Pals Foundation, others have contributed mightily to its initial success, groups such as John Tyson of Tyson Chicken, which has made his exclusive golf course, the Blessings, available for the Pel’s Pals annual golf outing; and the University of Arkansas Athletics Association, which provides helpful resources and staffing through its men’s basketball and special events departments.
